A combined biker venue event, our home, Explorers Hangout and The Yard in Dundry, Somerset, ran the UK’s first-ever Day of the Dead ride-out.
With over 100 bikes in a convoy leaving The Yard – some in awesome fancy dress, the platoon of bikes weaved their way through the villages and lanes of Chew Valley. Enjoying the sweeping curves and views on offer. Much to the bemusement of villagers and farmers.
The route entered south Bristol and came to its halfway point, stopping at a house in Longwell Green, near Kingswood to support a family who had decorated their home as a haunted house.
With over £160 raised in less than 20 minutes, the fleet of bikers then descended into the busy Avon ring road east of the city.

Taking over all the lanes the platoon cruised around the east and north of the city to Filton, where it then entered the northern suburbs of Bristol to arrive at Explorers Hangout in Bishopston.
The shopping street of Gloucester Road was once again entertained by almost 100 bikes travelling down to its final destination, where bikers then enjoyed hot food and drinks at the cafe.
Many bikers had never visited The Yard of Explorers Hangout. So it wasn’t just a new type of ride for many, but it introduced riders to two new venues for them to visit again in the future.
Day of the Dead Ride Out will become an annual event going forwards, planned for the first Saturday morning in November.
Let’s see if we can get 200 bikes next time!
